Informations of the site S�o Paulo
The University S�o Paulo welcomes you to the South American Preliminary of the
ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest, to be held
simultaneosly in six sites: Buenos Aires (Argentina), Campina Grande (Brazil),
Merida (Venezuela), Porto Alegre (Brazil), Santiago (Chile), and S�o Paulo
(Brazil).
The International Collegiate Programming Contest is a worldwide event made up
of over 20 regional contests and nearly 4000 of the brightest computer
science students as contestants. In these regional contests the best teams are
choosen to participate at the World Finals, that will be held next year in
Vancouver, Canada.
Two south american teams will advance to the World Finals, as stated in the
rules of the contest.
Important dates

October 31, 2000 : deadline for the schools to register
their
teams. It is not necessary to register the team members by this date.

November 11, 2000: deadline to the team members
registration, send the Qualification Statement ,
filled in and signed by the Team Advisor, who must be a professor belonging
to the school of the team members, and
fee payment.

November 18, 2000: Contest date.
Important: The maximum number of
competing teams in the S�o Paulo site
is 50. In the case that this capacity is exceeded, the Organizing Committee
will select the teams that will participate in the contest with the following
criteria (in order of decreasing priority):
- Coverage: as much as possible, the Organizing Committee will
select teams coming from different states and countries.
- Date of registration: teams with earlier registration dates
will have preference, as long as their registration papers are complete.
Information to the contestants
- Registration: Registration must be done directly in the site of
the ACM International
Collegiate Programming Contest. Performe the fee payment (see Brazilian Regional Contest to see
instructions) and fax a copy of the deposit slip to (0xx11) 38186134. The
qualification statement must be faxed to the same number.
- Transportation: See the

for detailed information to get to the event.
- Hotel Information: We have an special agreement with a
hotel. See this link to obtain further information.
- Computational Environment: In the contest each team will have one
PC avaliable (AMD K6 II 450), Windows NT. The problems can be solved
in Pascal (Turbo Pascal 7.0) or C ( lcc32 ).
