Research Line 4: Logic and probability for cognitive vision

The purpose of this research line is to investigate how probabilistic reasoning can be combined with qualitative spatial reasoning systems and to apply our developments on cognitive vision systems. Some particular application domains we are investigating are: mobile robot self-localisation using the perception of shadows; reasoning about knots and holes for the solution of spatial puzzles and spatial ontologies for representing the results of statistical reconstruction of neuroimages.
